THANK GOODNESS SHE'S A REAL PERSON WITH A HEART! I REALLY DISLIKED HER CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE,AS EVERYONE ELSE DID AS WELL. This is an old one but it is still one of Jack Nicholson's best. It is the story of a convict who thinks he might be able to take it easy and get off of work details if he gets himself committed to a psychiatric facility. That part of his scheme works but he does not count on how structured life can be in a psych ward. Throughout the film, Nicholson tries to get the system to bend to his will and his wishes. In doing so, he has a few small victories but usually winds up having problems associated with those victories. Some of those problems can be tragic. One of the most fascinating aspects to this film is watching how Nicholson's character shapes and changes the characters of the other inmates. Again, sometimes this is for the better and sometimes it is for the worse. At the end, when we see how the admittedly unlikable character of Nicholson winds up, we also see a small victory that seems to make much of what went before worthwhile. This film features strong performances by all involved and is first rate.

I haven't seen Mean girls and Tranispotting, but I am going now, just to watch Garyx Wormuloid enlightment sessions later. Here's a time when the Oscars got it right. That's a pretty damn good acceptance speech too, I must admit.

Meanwhile Ryan Murphy watches Nurse Ratched in this movie and goes YASSSS QUEEN. SPIN-OFF. As much as we all hate Nurse Rached, Louise Fletcher plays a brilliant part. 2:13 Lets be honest, that is the the scene everyone finds the most satisfying. She never really gets the comeuppance she deserves, but still satisfying to watch in the moment. Lol. One of the masterpieces of film history. 1:21 The face you make when you're guilty as hell and can't hide it! LOL.

Few movies have endings that make you stand up and cheer. This is the one of those movie I want to write about and forget. Not because it is a bad film bit because it is painfully beautiful. And whenever I think about this story, something inside me shivers.
I have nothing much to add to the above review except the ten stars that it deserves in its total. I can only say that this is a film that is above and beyond an excellent script, rich performances and a beautiful narrative. The film is soul by itself. One that connects with you and stays with you. It's not simply to be watched but to be experienced.
I watches this film as a student of psychology as this film is frequently mentioned across psychology books. It does provide deep insight into the real world application of psychiatric systems. It is an eye opener. This film can actually be converted to a compulsory exercise to arouse empathy in students, and why students but in people across the globe. If this film can't arouse your emotions, nothing can.

As a teen I never trusted anyone in the mental health industry after seeing this movie. It's a lot of baloney and I'm TIRED! Pretty much sums up my life right there. Sadly everything said in the video is still true to this day. They may not be lobotomizing but they damn sure don't care about patients. Still just like in this movies, they just want power and control and use fear on the patients. Essentially psychiatric patients have no rights really. An who's gonna do anything about it? Just like as explained in the video who's gonna believe a bunch of crazy people over respected but very corrupt and cruel nurses and staff.

Just watched it( awesome. haha. It's interesting these scenes are very true to the book. Rumble Fish please. It's my favorite and an old classic. I'm not getting crud for the holidays and this would be more than a gift lol. You guys are actually doing a good job With the movie stuff. McMurphy took her most powerful weapon from voice. This is my favourite film of all time i cried at the end of the film. Id become so engrossed in the movie. A terrific movie every actor played their roll perfectly. Forman must have looked at her and thought, ‘She looks so mean, shell make a great Ratched.
